How to measure your Thobe size

Step 1: Length

From the top of your shoulder, measure towards the neck, down to your ankle. Keep in mind how long or short you would prefer the Thobe to be. We would recommend keeping your Thobe size just above the ankles in order to follow Islamic guidelines.

Step 2: Chest Width

Measure from under one armpit to the other, and leave a bit of room for comfort.

Step 3: Sleeve Length

Measure from the top of your shoulder down to your wrist.

Maintaining your clothes:

 Washing:

  • Machine Washing: Any Thobes made from cotton, linen, or polyester mixes are machine washable. Use cold or lukewarm water. Remember to turn the Thobe inside out to protect any embroidery or embellishments.
  • Hand Washing: Delicate fabrics like cashmere wool or silk could require hand washing with cold water. Use a mild cleaning detergent and avoid wringing or twisting the fabric.

Drying

  • Air Dry: It’s best practice to air dry Thobes by hanging them on a hanger or a clothesline. Avoid intense direct sunlight, as this can fade the fabric.
  • Avoid Tumble Drying: The use of a dryer can cause shrinkage, wrinkles, and damage to embellishments.
Ironing & steaming
  • For the best results, iron your thobe when it’s slightly damp. Use a low to medium heat setting depending on the fabric.
